ATEX Radios and Transceivers
ATEX communication refers to the use of communication devices and systems specifically designed, manufactured, and certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, where flammable gases, mists, vapors, or combustible dusts may be present. These devices must comply with the strict safety requirements specified in the ATEX Directives (2014/34/EU and 1999/92/EC) to ensure they do not become an ignition source in hazardous environments. Our range of ATEX radios and transceivers enable users to communicate safely and reliably in explosive situations. We offer traditional 2 way radios from Icom and the SWATCOM DX, a wireless transceiver that can work at up to a 2000 meters distance.
Examples of ATEX communication devices and systems include:
- ATEX headsets: Intrinsically safe headsets for two-way communication in potentially explosive atmospheres, often featuring noise reduction or noise-cancelling technology.
- ATEX radios and walkie-talkies: Two-way radio communication devices designed and certified for use in hazardous areas. These devices can be either analog or digital and may offer features like GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, or emergency alerts.
- ATEX intercom systems: Intercom systems designed for use in hazardous areas, allowing for secure and clear voice communication between different parts of a facility or installation.
